COLLIOURE, FRANCE
We chose Collioure for its warm, casual and welcoming personality, and to celebrate the carefree spirit of French summer holidays on the coast. Located a few miles away from the Spanish border, the pretty seaside town shares a common history, culture, and independent attitude with its Catalan cousins.
✈︎ FOR OUR OVERSEAS LOVERS ✈︎
Collioure offers a nice variety of hotels, holiday rentals and AirBnbs in a wide price range. Contact us anytime if you need advice on where to stay according to your needs, and to ensure proximity to the venue.
FROM BARCELONA AIRPORT
Barcelona is the nearest international airport. You can either take a 2h00 (120 miles) drive directly from the airport, or chose to take the cross-border train to Perpignan (France) + another short train ride to Collioure.
Perpignan is also a stunning town, and offers car rentals.
FROM PARIS AIRPORT
If you’re arriving from Paris, this route will take you about 7h00, and also involves a train connection.
Take a “TGV” train down to Nîmes - Pont Du Gard. Then either drive, or take the slower coastal route “TER” train to Collioure.
OUR SUGGESTION for FAR-FLUNG FRIENDS
Plan to arrive in the area a few days to a week before the date. You’ll get the opportunity to explore Spain or the surrounding region and avoid the stress and hassle of rush traveling to the town / venue. We may also want to set up a fun group hang the day before…
COLLIOURE IN THE ARTS
Collioure has inspired many artists throughout the years, including Henri Matisse and André Derain, with its colors and scenic landscapes. This is were the “Fauvism” art style was born.
